Brangelina's tearful confession

Gentle reader,

It's been a while since I've served up a rant, so I thought I would take this opportunity to give you one.

In the last week, I've seen at least 3 tabloid and magazine front pages at the supermarket reporting on "Angelina's tearful confession to Jen!" or "Brad won't tell Jen" or "Jen's furious with Angelina".

Who the fuck cares?

Honestly, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are divorced. It never really was a big secret that Brad Pitt left her for Angelina Jolie (whether or not you believe the hype that thier marriage dissolved because Jennifer Aniston had no desire to start a family).

I think if Jennifer Aniston is having a hard time moving on, it's because of all these magazines telling her she is having a hard time. And if Brad Pitt is having a hard time moving on, well he sure has a funny way of showing it. And if Angelina Jolie is racked with guilt over the situation, well, the best thing she could do is keep her big-lipped mouth closed about it, and move on. She is, after all, the other woman. She got the man, and she should move on and not badger the woman left behind.

Divorces happen every day in this country. I realize now as I write about this, I'm being hypocritical. I want to make a comment about the lunacy of American entertainment journalism sensationalizing this breakup of two high profile people. But as I write, I'm sensationalizing the subject myself.
